"This smooth bore musket appears to have been in the ownership of a South African tribal people; the brass wire platting forming a large and decorative 'capucines' and the use of brass upholstery studs, as seen on the shafts of knobkerries, would possibly point to the Zulu tribal area. The style is mid 19th century European military issue.".
