AN AFGHANISTAN JEZAIL MATCHLOCK LONG GUN. The 135 cm tapering barrel, slightly flared at the muzzle with a ram rod below. Fitted with a matchlock action and crooked stock and twin sling mounting points. 175 cm. With an unusual tool fitted beneath one of the metal 'capucine' mounting bands, perhaps a touch-hole prick and a match snuff or loading gauge. "What would seem to be a primitive weapon had a greater and more accurate range than the musket used by the British.".
