WW1 British 'A' Pattern Steel Combat Helmet, interesting example of the very early pattern British steel combat helmet with the short brim, apple green paint finish to the shell. Helmet has been fitted with a later officers type lining system with leather sweatband and satin cloth. Early style two piece brown leather chinstrap with metal buckle fitting. The helmet has evidence of modern rusting around the chinstrap mounts which indicate these have probably been replaced at some time quite recently. Overall an interesting early pattern shell which has been restored to create an officers helmet.
