An Indian Portrait of a Mughal Emperor, possibly Jahandar Shah, 18th-19th Century. -

A formal full-length portrait of a royal figure, likely a Mughal Emperor, shown in profile against a muted green landscape with a low horizon. The subject is elegantly attired in a green floral-patterned jama and an elaborate turban, heavily embellished with strands of pearls and a sarpech. A golden nimbus surrounds his head, indicating his high status. He holds a small pink flower in his left hand and a long-barreled firearm in his right, with a bow and a quiver of arrows at his side. The central image is enclosed within a broad red border with thin black and white ruled inner lines. .
