A ROUND ZAND ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHIC GLAZED CERAMIC TILE, PERSIA, 18TH - 19TH CENTURY

This circular architectural tile medallion dates to the Zand period and features bold Arabic calligraphy. The central inscription depicts the word Allah, rendered in a dark brown or black glaze against a creamy white ground. The script is executed in a thick, fluid hand with characteristic pointed terminals. The piece is constructed of glazed ceramic and was originally intended for an architectural setting, likely as a decorative boss or part of a larger calligraphic frieze.
