Abdur Rahman Chughtai (India/Pakistan, 1894-1975), Untitled (A Sage Addressing Figures) - A vertical format miniature painting by Abdur Rahman Chughtai (India/Pakistan, 1894-1975), executed in watercolor or gouache on paper. The scene depicts a tall, elderly bearded man in a saffron turban and flowing blue and white robes, holding a string of prayer beads and a staff, addressing three younger figures in traditional attire. They are set against a backdrop of a large, gnarled tree with exposed roots and a muted blue sky, with a small dog in the lower right. The painting bears a signature in Nastaliq script in the lower left corner, translating to 'Chughtai Abdur Rahman Lahore'.
