An Islamic Copper Ewer with Incised Scrollwork, 19th Century.
An Islamic copper ewer featuring a bulbous drop-shaped body with a tall foot and sharply tapering dome-shaped shoulder. The body, spout, and arched handle are intricately adorned with dense foliate scrollwork, incised throughout in harmonious symmetry. The hinged lid sits atop the arched handle, which curves gracefully over the neck and is decorated with vegetal motifs. The spout is long and elegantly curved, terminating in a faceted nozzle.
