A LARGE ANGLO-INDIAN MOTHER-OF-PEARL MOSAIC FOOTED DECORATIVE BOWL, 19TH CENTURY OR LATER. -
An Anglo-Indian footed bowl of circular form, featuring a mosaic exterior and interior composed of iridescent mother-of-pearl tiles. The nacre elements are cut into small rectangular and square sections and applied in concentric and horizontal bands to a central substrate, exhibiting a natural colour palette of white, cream, and pale grey with a characteristic lustre. The vessel rests upon a short, integrated circular foot, the base of which is lined with black felt and equipped with four protective pads.
