AN INDIAN STEEL DAGGER KHANJAR DAGGER WITH SILVER KOFTGARI INLAY, 19TH CENTURY

The double-edged blade features a pronounced curve and a prominent central medial ridge for structural reinforcement, tapering from a wide base to a sharp point. The hilt is designed in a waisted I-shape and is decorated throughout with silver-toned metal inlay applied in the koftgari technique. The decorative program includes intricate scrolling foliate and floral arabesques, central sunburst rosettes, and geometric chevron-patterned borders. Small engraved characters, likely in Arabic script, are present on the side of the flared pommel but are not clearly legible. (Display stand not included)
