AN ISLAMIC SILVER AND CARNELIAN SIGNET RING WITH CALLIGRAPHIC INSCRIPTION. - The central stone is set within a raised four-prong mount and is deeply engraved with two registers of Persian Nasta'liq script separated by a horizontal line. The top register reads ŨŮâ ŧŮ⦠ŨŰÅéűŧŮâ (In the name of the Infinite) and the bottom register reads űŮ�ÅË ÅŻű ŬŮâ¡Å§Ůâ (Day in the world), suggesting a poetic or religious invocation. The metal setting is decorated with raised foliate and scrollwork motifs throughout the bezel and shoulders. Each shoulder is further embellished with a trefoil arrangement of three green stone inlays, possibly turquoise or glass paste.
