A GILT-BRONZE BIRD SCULPTURE, SIGNED "JULES MOIGNEZ", LATE 19TH CENTURY
Bronze decoration executed with fine detail and a gilt surface, signed J. Moignez. This piece is by Jules Moigniez (1835–1894), the noted French animalier sculptor best known for his bird subjects in bronze, exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon and popular internationally in the late 19th century.
Provenance: Château de Chalain.
