A 19TH CENTURY QING DYNASTY CHINESE WATER PIPE HAVING SIX CHARACTER MARKS TO PIPE STEM
Oval cylindrical form, decorated with chased cartouche panels in high relief showing a winged dragon amongst clouds and phoenix amongst clouds to reverse, sides having chased low relief showing a land dragon (Dilong) 地龍 to one side and turtle to the other, incised circular longevity symbol to base.
(h 29.2cm x w 11.5cm x depth 4.8cm)

N.B. pipe was used for tobacco and is often confused as an opium pipe
