Queen Anne style flintlock pistol by James Barbar of London, 11cm two stage turn off barrel, underside of breech marked BARBAR and inspection marks, top marked LONDON, walnut stuck with carvings around the tang, stock with 6cm crack, butt cap is missing, the top piece of the flint holder is detached but present. Generally fine, but James Barbar considered one of the best gunmakers of his time, died 1773.
