AN INDIAN MUTINY MEDAL WITH CENTRAL INDIA CLASP TO THE 12TH LANCERS. An Indian Mutiny Medal with Central India clasp named to Farrier J. Duncan 12th Lancers. James Duncan is recorded to the roll with number 1778, and is recorded as resident in the York and Leeds area in 1861. He fought as a part of the Saugor Field division in Central India under the command of Major General Whitlock. In 1858 the Saugor Division joined up with the Nagpore Movable Column and in April engaged the 9,000 men strong column of the Nawab of Banda defeating the enemy and capturing the cities of Banda and Kirwi.
