A CHINESE BRONZE MODEL OF A MYTHICAL BEAST, QILIN, QIANLONG MARK, QING DYNASTY. The figure recumbent with its head turned to the rear, mounted on a rectangular base with lion mask feet. The base with six character mark of Qianlong. Possibly of the period. 18cm length.

Ref: For a similar example see Christie's Interiors sale, January 2012, Lot 281. Described with Qianlong mark but later in the period. Another mark and period figure of Qilin on a matching base can be seen in Christie's Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art Sale, May 2011, Lot 67.
