A pair of Chinese famille rose hexagonal lanterns and stands, Republic period, 1920s, each painted to a circular medallion with couples in a garden setting, on a reticulated trellis work panel, with thousand flower ground, blue and banded foliate borders, height 38cm
Provenance - acquired in the 1920s by an employee of the Netherlands-America Steamship Company. He lived and worked in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Jakarta from c.1920-1932; thence by family descent.
