Selby established his Victorian picture collection in 1975 at his High Street Art Gallery in Camden, London. Particularly celebrated for his lacquer-on-canvas effect designs, Stephen Selby's artwork captured the essence of traditional artistry with a modern twist. His prints were made from 35mm negatives from photos taken in galleries in the 1970s before taking photos of these artworks was prohibited.
