A BOER WAR AND FIRST WORLD WAR GROUP OF FOUR TO THE ROYAL ARTILLERY. A group of four comprising a Queen's South Africa medal with Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal and South Africa 1902 clasps named to 12082 DVR F. THOMPSON R.H.A.. 1914 Star with Aug-Nov clasp named to 12802 A.BMBR T. THOMPSON R.H.A. War medal and Victory medal to 12802 CPL. F.J. THOMPSON R.A. Remounted Court style for display. Francis J. Thompson was born in Ipswich in 1881, he attested for the Royal Horse Artillery at Guernsey on the 12th October 1900 serving in South Africa and India. Recalled for the Great War he served on the Western Front from the 5th November 1914. He transferred to the Labour Corps on the 6th of July 1917 before being discharged in February 1919.
