A GHUZNEE CABUL 1842 MEDAL TO THE FIRST TROOP HORSE BRIGADE. A Ghuznee Cabul medal for the 1st Afghanistan War of 1841-42, the reverse dated 1842 and marked for 'Ghuznee and Cabul', named in script to 'William Cowling 1st Troop Horse Bde Bombay Arty', with silver clip and straight steel suspension. William Cowling was born in Houghton, Cambridge, he was discharged to a Chelsea Pension on the 8th August 1849. Recorded as one of only 138 medals with the Ghuznee Cabul 1842 reverse to the 1st Troop Bombay Horse Artillery.
