An early 20th century taxidermy Golden Eagle, (Aquila chrysaetos): full mount set on a cork base, 72cm high, together with a note of provenance. *Notes- This specimen was acquired off the Channel Island of Alderney in 1886 and was at one point in the possession of Colonel Lionel Langlois, Crown Agent for the Island of Alderney who had it on his office desk. During WWII just before German forces were about to take occupation Colonel Langlois evacuated the island taking the eagle with him. Billeted with the vendors parent in Woodbury, Devon, the eagle was gifted to the vendors family as a 'Thank you' when Colonel Langlois retuned to Alderney
