An impressive mid 19th century oak fire surround, with an oval overmantel mirror and two smaller shaped flanking mirrors, shelves and supporting columns, above the main mantel, supported on two vertical side sections, the whole wonderfully hand carved by Dorothy Taylor in Bridlington, who was the Great Great Great Aunt of the current vendor, with a naturalistic lion's mask holding branch with flowers and leaves issuing from each end, ivy leaf covered corbels, and hung with bunches of various fruits and vines, leaf borders and swags, opening 92 by 92cm, overall 30 by 177 by 250cm high.
