A 19TH CENTURY 'BOAT CRADLE', the hull constructed with finely varnished clinker nailed into narrow ribs with clench copper nails, with suspension points, 40 1/2" w x 17 1/2" d x 14 1/2" h (Illustrated) NB This cradle was built as an apprentice piece and is based on, or is believed to have been made as one of the prototypes for the cradle presented to Queen Victoria and now housed at Osborne House
The structure is sound with no losses. There is some wear to the wood to the base of the cradle and overall parts of the wood surface are distressed
