An Indian Pichwai Painting Depicting Shrinathji, 19th Century - An Indian Pichwai painting depicting Shrinathji, rendered as a large painted textile in the traditional Rajasthani or Nathdwara style. The central composition features a blue-skinned deity, identifiable as Krishna (Shrinathji), holding a lotus and flanked by female attendants (gopis) beneath an ornate canopy and stylized foliage. The artwork is executed with extensive use of gold and silver pigment and mica dots. Above the main scene, two smaller vignettes show figures on an elephant and a bull, flanking a central stylized facial motif within a medallion. The lower register depicts a procession of female figures carrying pots and accompanying cows, against a backdrop of architectural structures and trees. The entire scene is enclosed within a decorative floral border on a solid red textile ground.

Significant creasing and folding throughout, consistent with age and storage. Discoloration and general wear are evident, particularly in the lower sections and along fold lines. Despite wear, the colors and gold elements largely retain their vibrancy. Some minor pigment loss may be present in areas of heavy creasing, but no major tears or losses to the textile are observed.
