A Victorian 1/4 plate ambrotype of an officer of the 34th (Cumberland) Regiment of Foot, 1850s, in undress shell jacket with light-coloured collar and pointed cuffs, twisted shoulder cords, white sword belt, holding white gloves, sword and his forage cap on his lap to front, the cap clearly displaying an embroidered cap badge with ‘34’ within wreath, a white handkerchief tucked into his breast, dark tones.
