1985 built 2002 Tiger CAT E1, 1993cc. Registration number B363 EFW. Chassis number SA9EGDMSUYB061711. Engine number EA86866. Sold with the V5C, keys, expired MOT, build manual and photographic history. The Lotus & concept was developed by Chapman and later through Westwood, Caterham and the like. Other firms were trying to emulate the Lotus Seven concept, with various choices of power, creature comforts being of secondary importance. One such derivative was the Tiger Cat E1, which was extremely agile and was equally suitable for both track and road use. Tiger Racing launched as a manufacturer of road and race cars and was formed back in 1989. Now established as large manufacturers of kit cars, the kits supplied to customers are usually in assemble at home form with a base chassis, and can be purchased partially complete or with nothing else to acquire available. The Cat is unique amongst similarly styled cars in that it uses the entire Sierra rear axle subframe as it unbolts from the donor, making for easy assembly. Defining characteristics of the car are the aluminium side panels and the one-piece rear bodywork (rather than separate wheel arches hanging on the tub). Our deceased vendor purchased a 1985 Ford Sierra as the donor, using and refurbishing the necessary parts. It passed its Type Approval in August 2002. There are MOT records from 2002 at 45 miles through to the last one in June 2002 at 27,897 miles. It is well sorted example and presents very. It has only been used on the road, not as a track car, and has comfort extras such as the side screens and rear wind deflector.
We have taken the car up our private road and it is a blast to drive :).
