An early 20th century presentation Course Bearing Corrector:, unsigned, constructed in oxidised and polished steel, inscribed around edge 'With the compliments of the Marconi International Marine Co', the threaded central handle inscribed Captain F E Beadnell RNR', contained within a fitted mahogany box with instructions on base and sliding lid, the case 7 x 16 x 16cm. *Notes- Captain F E Beadnell RNR (1971-1946) was born in Woodbridge, Suffolk. He began his active service as a junior officer aboard the clipper 'Titania' and retired after forty-two years continuous service aboard various vessels, including twenty -three years in command of White Star Line ships. While in command of the 'Cymric' during WWI it was torpedoed by U-20 and sunk.
