A ROYAL ENGINEERS OFFICER'S MAMELUKE having a single edged slightly curved blade etched with crown over GR cypher, the ricasso etched with the Retailers details 'J. DANIELS, PALL MALL, LONDON', the hilt with an embossed gilt brass crossguard and slab-sided ivory grip inset with four gilt brass rosettes, original steel scabbard - Provenance. The sword belonged to Major General Cuthbert G. Fuller, CB, CMG, DSO. Colonel Commandant Royal Engineers. (100cm overall)
