Calpurnia - New South Wales. 1938 Covers (3) from G.B, all recovered from the "Calpurnia" which crashed when landing in a storm on Lake Ramadi in Iraq, on November 27th, killing five crew and passengers. All three covers with the stamps washed off, two handstamped red "Received at / SYDNEY, N.S.W /DAMAGED" or boxed "DAMAGED BY WATER / THROUGH ACCIDENT / TO FLYING BOAT", the other without any cachet, two forwarded in O.H.M.S ambulance envelopes with red Dead Letter Office Sydney datestamps.
