c.1911 De la Rue dummy stamps, imperforate se-tenant vertical pair in scarlet, upper stamp with KGV Downey Head and lower stamp with Minerva Head, lower margin with bars, unmounted mint (mounted in margin). A rare Downey Head trial from the sheet of 48, twelve of which had the KGV Head, which was made from a new die supplied by the Royal Mint to the Crown Agents and then sent on to De la Rue. The head on this dummy stamp is similar to the die 2 die proof with uncleared surround, reduced to fit into the dummy stamp frame. Photo on Page 22.
