1815 (Mar 28) Entire letter written by Hezekiah Frith to his son in law Thomas Darling in New York, endorsed "Per Favour of Mr Hezekiah Frith Jun.", with circular "PHI / 14 / AP" datestamp of Philadelphia, rated 37½ cents. Frith was a ship owner who engaged in piracy in the 1790s, becoming one of the richest men in Bermuda. A fine and rare early letter.
