Heavy Hand Painted Cast Metal Sign with Prominent Coloured Emblem of The York & Lancaster Regiment, comprising a title scroll, a tiger and a union rose within a laurel wreath, all surmounted by a royal coronet. Metal bracket affixed to rear of sign, approximately 118 x 74cm, also metal numbers 65 and 84, representing the Regiments of Foot that were amalgamated to create the York & Lancaster Regiment. The York & Lancaster Regiment was a renowned line Infantry Regiment of the British Army that existed from 1881 to 1968. *Provenance From an external plinth at the Regimental Headquarters of Army Reserve Unit, Endcliffe Hall, Sheffield.
