A Tibetan White Metal Ritual Kartika with Hayagriva and Wrathful Deity Heads, 20th Century. -
A cast Tibetan white metal ritual kartika, also known as a drigug or chopper. The hilt is surmounted by a stylized animal head finial, identified as a horse head and often associated with Hayagriva, followed by a multi-faced crowned deity head depicting both wrathful and serene expressions. The handle is further adorned with scrolling patterns and a braided motif, terminating in a prominent mythical creature's head, resembling a makara or dragon, serving as a guard, complete with scales.
