An early 19th century French provincial cherrywood oyster veneered armoire, attributed to Charles Allory (1783-1853) Rennes, Britanny, the domed oversailing ogee cornice above a pair of oyster veneered feather banded parquetry and scrolling fielded panelled doors, bold iron escutcheons, shaped apron, short fluted cabriole legs, with key, 233cm high,  150cm wide,  58cm deep

Provenance: A Private Collection from Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

Notes - Charles Allory (1783-1853) worked in Rennes, Britanny, in north west France. Country furniture from this area is often signed, however this piece is not. It bares remarkable resemblances to the example sold 14th January 2025, lot 659 at Woolley & Wallis.
