Such weights were essential tools for bankers, merchants, and goldsmiths dealing in foreign gold coin. Material: Brass Date: Late 17th to mid-18th century Origin: Britain (for Portuguese trade coinage) Condition: Very good for type, with legible stamps and pleasing age tone A desirable pair of early trade artefacts, ideal for collectors of numismatics, maritime commerce, or Georgian-period mercantile history.
