Good French violoncello attributed to Charles Plumerel, signed and inscribed no. 30, Anno 1852 on the inside upper back, the two piece back of faint medium curl with similar wood to the sides and head, the table of a fine width grain slightly widening to the flanks on the treble side and the varnish of a light reddish-brown colour on a golden ground, 29 7/8", 75.90cm
