A Pair of English Brass Ejector Chambersticks, Dated 1912
A pair of utilitarian brass chambersticks, also known as bedside candlesticks, featuring an integrated push-up candle ejector mechanism. The objects are constructed of brass or a similar yellow metal. Each chamberstick features a square drip pan base and a tall cylindrical stem designed to hold a taper candle. The ejector mechanism is operated by a small brass knob visible on the front of the stem. A wide, curving carrying handle is attached to the back of the base and stem on both examples. Both bases are affixed with a rectangular, silver-toned plaque. The plaque is engraved with the inscription: A.C. - E.C. pp. JAN. 6 TH 1912, indicating a specific date for the object's presentation or origin.
