A Chinese Doucai 'Figure Scene' Dish, Kangxi Mark. -
A Chinese doucai porcelain shallow dish, possibly dating to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). The piece is decorated in a polychrome palette combining underglaze cobalt blue with overglaze enamels in green, orange-red, and yellow. The interior depicts a narrative scene featuring three figures on a rocky outcrop beneath a pine tree, set amidst swirling waves with a boat, a pagoda-like structure, a flying bird, and stylized clouds. The exterior is adorned with scattered sprigs of bamboo, flowers, and fruit. The base bears a six-character underglaze blue reign mark, 大清康熙年製 (Dà Qīng Kāngxī Nián Zhì), which translates to 'Made in the Great Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period.'
