A LATE 18TH CENTURY PEWTER DOME-LID SPOUTED FLAGON, IRISH, CIRCA 1780. Having a plain, straight-sided, tapering drum, a wide ovolo-moulded foot rim, domed-lid, scroll-moulded thumbrest, and bold swan-neck handle with boot-heel terminal, hallmarks to base underside of John Heaney, Dublin, (fl.1767-1807), (PS4536), height 29.4cm


Provenance: Former F. Jaeger and Walter Allen Collections

Literature: Illustrated C.A. Peal, 'Pewter of Great Britain' (1983), p. 169, pl.131 and described by the author as an excellent example.
