**DESCRIPTION CHANGE - SEE CONDITION REPORT** Military Interest - Major Denis Rake MC Special Operations Executive (SOE), an important group of medals and ephemera, including the Military Cross, 2 Croix de Guerre Medals, one with palm, Legion D'Honneur with citations and French resistance medal, and set of miniatures. Also a signed copy of his autobiography "Rakes Progress - The Gay and Dramatic Adventures of Major Denis Rake, MC, the Reluctant British War Time Agent", two postcards from POW camp to his sister, over 20 photographs from his personal archive including pictures of Douglas Fairbanks Jnr's family for whom he worked after the war.
Provenance: left to current owners by Dennis Rake in his Will. It has been suggested that the Military Cross is a replica. Whilst we cannot verify this, we also cannot see why he would have received a replica medal. All the medals were poorly treated by Denis Rake as he seemed to attach little personal significance to the during his life time.
