LLOYD, PAYNE & AMIEL, MANCHESTER, GOOD QUALITY VICTORIAN FIGURED WALNUT PORTABLE STATIONERY/ WRITING BOX WITH FALL FRONT AND BRAMAH LOCK, the slightly domed top enclosing a well fitted interior including a pair of removable ivorine tablets, one marked ‘ENGAGEMENTS’ above the days of the week, and three black Morocco lined short drawers above a sprung section housing a square inkwell, one missing, and pen tray, set behind a fold-out gilt tooled black leather lined writing slope, 12 ½” (31.7cm) high, 17 ½” x 10 ¼” (44.4cm x 26cm)
C/R-Exterior
Usual rubbing, surface scratching and fading, the polish thinning in areas, several minor knocks, dents and marks to the chamfered moulding at the base- see images 
Interior
Good- minor scuffing to the Morocco on the lid
Some rubbing the ‘engagements’ tablet
Minor split to the polished back of the writing slope
Lacks 1 inkwell
