An antique Persian carpet, probably 19th or early 20th century, with all over floral, vase and foliate decoration on a madder ground, within a dark blue Herati style border and pale buff and royal blue floral guards, 156 x 125in. (396 x 318cm.).
. *Some fading to colour to one end of rug (approx. 25% of length). Some wear to pile to other end to last 18in. of the madder field and in places to the border. A few small old stitched repairs here and there. Edges fraying to two corners and a few smaller frays to one end. No moth damage. Remains supple.
