JOYCE, WHITCHURCH. A MID 19TH CENTURY FUSEE RAILWAY CLOCK the figured mahogany case with scroll carved ears, ebony strung inlay and moulded surround having an applied enamel plate numbered 62 to the front and an oval brass plate to the side inscribed LM & S No. 9516. The 14" painted dial with Roman numerals fronting an eight-day fusee movement with shaped plates and anchor escapement, originally from GWR and L&NWR joint lines (Birkenhead Joint Committee) around 1840 - this clock is illustrated in Railway Clocks by Ian P. Lyman, page 131 Fig. 4.97
