A FANG KNIFE AND SCABBARD. A knife with a 40 cm pointed, spear shaped blade with central ridge, twin fullers and engraved decoration. On a decorative mount and wooden grip. In a monitor lizard skin mounted scabbard with wire belt loop. 49 cm. "The Fang are part of an indigenous group of peoples who inhabit the rain forests of the Cameroon’s, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome. Although separate ethnic groups they all share a common history".

Some loss of wooden blade mount. light surface rust to the blade. Collection number to both parts.
