(The history of Gebrüder Schütz pottery is marked by the collaboration and later division of two brothers, Peter Eugen Selb and Carl Gustav Lenk, who established the pottery in 1849. The company, initially named Gebrüder Schütz Handelsgesellschaft, expanded under the management of Karl Schütz in 1854. The brothers continued to operate under the names Gebrüder Schütz, Schütz Blansko, and Schütz Cilli, with Arnold managing the main plant in Olomuczany and Ludwig operating the branch plant near Cilli. The company's expansion to a second facility in Petrovče near Cilli allowed them to develop finer wares and compete in major exhibitions throughout central Europe. The split in 1890 due to inheritance reasons led to the separation of the main plant in Olomuczany and the branch plant in Petrovče, with Arnold remaining in Olomuczany and Ludwig operating Schütz Cilli in Petrovče.
