A Ghaznavid Bronze Tripod Basin with Arabic Inscription, 12th Century.

A shallow bronze basin resting on three short knob feet, originating from the Ghaznavid period, 12th century. The wide flaring rim is finely engraved with a continuous band of Arabic calligraphy in Kufic script, encircling the inner well. A secondary band of interlaced vegetal scrollwork decorates the outer border of the rim.
