Inc. 4 Aug. 1942 env. ex Glasgow, initially to Tangmere but with red boxed "NOT/OFFICERS MESS/TANGMERE" hs on reverse, redirected to Biggin Hill but with ms "not at/Biggin Hill" on front, a further label redirecting to Aberdeen over the address but with redirection crossed out, forwarded to the Air Ministry in London on 22 Sep. (Aberdeen hs on front) where "UNDELIVERABLE FOR REASON STATED/RETURN TO SENDER" hs applied on reverse before returning to sender in Glasgow; c.1943 cover to an RAF POW in Batavia, Indonesia (while under Japanese Occupation), address crossed out and pencil ms "Kallang" (RAF Seaplane base near Singapore) applied, still undelivered with boxed "RETURN TO SENDER/A M INSTRUCTIONS/[W G Sleep W.O.]" hs applied and returned to the Air Ministry in London with 10 Mar. 1943 "London/79" machine cancel applied to rear; plus other similar examples inc.
