Rare Ceylon Planters Rifle Corps Other Ranks Foreign Service Helmet, interesting khaki cloth covered cork foreign service helmet, being a six panel example. With its original leather chinstrap. Interior with green cloth covering to the undersides of the peak. Leather sweatband with cork spacers. The crown of the helmet has inked name of the original owner and regimental initials 'C.P.R.C' (Ceylon Planters Rifle Corps). The helmet shows wear and has some areas of damage and cloth loss.
The regiment was a volunteer unit formed with European members who were part of the Ceylon Defence Force, working or being owners of the tea and rubber plantations.
