1849 (July 26) Entire letter from New York to N. Butterfield in Bermuda with red "BERMUDA / SHIP LETTER" of St. Georges, charged 8d double rate. The letter mentions the cholera outbreak in New York "now becoming formidable, reported today 150 cases with 52 deaths". Fine and scarce, less than 20 examples recorded. Photo on Page 12.
