An Omani prayer rug with fringed ends, decorated with the national emblem of the Sultinate of Oman in pale blue, yellow and cream topped by a red crown.. Nicknamed "Khanjar Bo Sayfain" (Khanjar & two swords), the insignia was adopted in the 18thC as the badge of the Omani Royal Family, later becoming the national emblem.
Provenance of Group Commander Wood (previous lot), brought back after serving in the region. Approx 97cm (incl fringe) x 59cm.
