A large documentary creamware jug. Probably Herculaneum, circa 1800, printed and painted with a dedication to George and Sarah Whinfield, transfer printed with a two masted brig, the ship titled Nancy, height 26cm. There is a rim chip, which has been amateurishly filled, with some spotting and slight retouching on the rim. There is a hairline crack which has resulted in some loss on one of the sails, please see the additional images. The handle has some paint loss on one small edge section. There is a firing fault inside, and a few other small marks and blemishes.
